Lets Get Shabby Challenge #48

The challenge at Lets Get Shabby this month is about GREEN. Not just about the colour tho, but also FOLIAGE, LEAVES, TREES, VINES and any PLANT FORMS you can dream up. You can see what the rest of the team have created and get all the details on how to play along HERE.
I do love blossom. This photo is what I originally had as my first blog header and is what my current header is based on....ha, I've certainly got my moneys worth out of this one simple photo taken so long ago.

Inky dribbles, canvas leaves, velvet flowers and delicate die-cut foliage all make for different textures.

Mask, texture paste and ink.

Chipboard coloured with ink and then 'crackle medium' applied.

Today, I also want to thank every one who left a comment for me on my last post and my mixed media journal page. I have been away for all of last week with no computer. When I got home this morning and read all the truly wonderful comments that so many of you had taken the time and effort to leave for me I was so touched, thankful, and of course, as we all know, comments make us happy :))
I was fortunate enough this time round to be featured, so I had a double whammy of happiness. If you are interested in mixed media challenges pop over HERE and join in the fun. The colour challenge here this time round is red, so after creating HERE at Lets Get Shabby with green, you can compliment it HERE at A Mixed Media Color Challenge with red.
Thank you for visiting me today. I hope your weekend is full of fun, colour, warm hugs and good coffee.

Mixed Media Color Challenge #3

Had some more fun playing along with A Mixed Media Color Challenge again this week. I have to be honest and admit that my background had already been done, it was a reject piece of craft paper that I had created a background on for something else using a diamond mask and inks, but didn't end up using. It was too pretty to throw away so kept it just incase and as it happened the color scheme for this  challenge was pale blue and turquoise. So, I stuck it into my journal and played around with it a bit more adding some texture with paste, some stamping some more gesso and paint and a pretty little floral die-cut.

Thanks for dropping by today, have a great weekend.

A Mixed Media Color Challenge.

Just for fun this week I've played along with a challenge that is all about my favourite thing, mixed media. Be guided by the color palette and include two mixed media techniques. All the details are HERE if you want to join in.

My page has been gessoed, papered, painted with acrylics, embossed with a mask, stamped, inked using a mask and some distress stain applied..........so much fun.

Fibres are always a great thing to add into the mix.

My Page   "Daydream"
What inspired me with this beautiful mood board was  the fabric with all its soft folds. So I have included tulle, muslin and lace on my page. The distressed frames in the last image on the board prompted me to use part of an ornate picture frame & the metal keys inspired the use of metal flowers that I embossed for extra texture. The sketch is perfect so I followed it exactly.
I've worked directly onto chipboard. Applied gesso, textures, papers, paint and inks.

Metal flowers embossed with Stampendous Shabby Blue Embossing Enamel.
Thanks for visiting me! Have a fun and creative week.
