paperDVIZHNIK Colour Challenge

These are the colours paperDVIZHNIK is challenging us with.  Apart from the Fuchsia, these colours would not be amongst my favourites, and I'm sure I would never put them all together. Having said that, I love how they look on my page. It is this very type of challenge that forces us out of our comfort zone and makes us open our eyes to new, and more often than not, wonderful discoveries.

The very dark red was a difficult colour to match up with. Placing the black tulle over the brighter red came pretty close to it.

Tissue, stamping, stencilling and embossing and some water colour high lights.

Our Beautiful World......Green.

You know I love pink, but lately so many of my pages have been pink.  I needed a change, and was inspired by the prompt over at Our Beautiful World this week.

Week #38 is green. 

Have to admit I do love the little pop of red that has found its way into this mass of green poppies.

Art Journal Page for Mixed Media Place

At last I finally have a chance to post my journal page done for Mixed Media Place ! I want to thank every one who have left me so many wonderful comments on Facebook regarding this page.

The situation in Ukraine has not changed, the threat of conflict and war in the region still sadly and frighteningly grows.

With so many art / scrapbook friends living in Poland, Ukraine and Russia my heart is heavy for you.

War is a vile thing ! No matter where or when or why it happens. I can not help but feel saddened and very worried by recent events in the Ukraine and now also involving Russia. I know I live a million miles away, but today, because of technology, the world is made a smaller place......the images are there for us to see, to be shocked and saddened by, even though  we do not always know the truths behind the images.
  My art journal page is reflective of my thoughts on war..........."There are no words". There are no words that can adequately describe it, and there are no words  powerful enough to stop it !
                 I have used base paper "Drive All Night" from 7 Dots Dreamer Collection. Some stamping and embossing with white, two different stencils used, one with ink the other with texture paste. Lastly water colour paints and red acrylic paint.

Thank you for visiting me today. Amongst the daily grind of your coming week I hope you find some pockets of joy that put a smile on your face and gladness in your heart.

A new month at Scrap Around The World, and a beautiful, very soft and feminine moodboard created by Alexandra Polyzou

Created my page on a heavy duty 12x12 piece of chipboard. Added lots of background texture, along with my favourite, a cut up serviette. I love the soft, delicate, transparent look it gives. This is actually a very simple page, and I've made a little photo 'step by step' video that shows how I did it.
