I have just discovered Scrap Friends and immediately fell in love with this sketch. This is their Sketch Challenge #6. They also have a separate Colour challenge.
Another photo taken in Thailand. My daughter, Lani, setting the little birds free. Giving the birds their freedom will ( supposedly ) bring you luck, well, even if it doesn't it has to feel good.
I've been playing again with image transfer. Having always been a big fan of rub ons I guess this is a natural progression. I love the choices it allows, I enjoy the actual process and I love the subtle effects it can create.
I have also used a beautiful Dusty Attic Chipboard 'Leafy Stem' but in the 'negative'. Drawn around the stems and painted them in, traced around the leaves onto Japanese Origami paper and cut them out individually and then glued down.
I tried an image transfer onto a PinkPaislee Artisan Element not really knowing if it would work or not, but it did, and then, just because I love them I added a rub on over the top and some extra colour.
HI.. Oh wow, what an amazing moment of letting the birds free, yes it would have to feel really good doing that!! and your take on the sketch is stunning, love the stamping and misting.. a fabulous take on the sketch!

ReplyDeleteSome super interesting techniques going on here Gayle and a tremendously artistic page!! Sadly tax laws in France prohibit Pandore from selling those delightful stamps directly to individuals and currently they are only available in France but Julie is looking for outlets all over the world so if you frequent a store that imports please suggest Les Papiers de Pandore to them and there is a contact us button on the blog - thanks :)
ReplyDeleteHi Gail ... Just curious what type of image transfer you're playing with .... I love transfers too, but had never thought to incorporate with so many other techniques and elements. Now the wheels are turning :)
