Lets Get Shabby 2nd Birthday Challenge

This page was made for Lets Get Shabby in celebration of their Second Birthday. This is the inspiration photo.........
and the brief was to create something that had to have the #2 in it and use 2 of the following........
                             lace
                             chipboard
                             ribbon
                             material
                             book/music page
You can use other things on your page but only 2 from this list. I chose to use chipboard and ribbon.
Before I was a scrapbooker I was a quilter, so I drew on my quilting background for some inspiration...............
I completely indulged myself and made a '9 patch' square, shabby collage, just like a 9 patch or 6 patch applique block you would use to make a fabric quilt.
I also drew inspiration from Christine Middlecamp and her beautiful embellished doilies where she uses layer apon layer of prettiness atop a Martha Stewart doily. No Martha doilies here, just little ones I made using the Spellbinders in the Cuttlebug.
This was soooo much fun.

Hop over to Lets Get Shabby and have a look at the beautiful work the other DT girls have done and join in the challenge.
              HAPPY BIRTHDAY LGS !

  6. Oh wow - it's so beautiful! It looks so elegantly celebratory. Perfect for the occasion, it sounds like. :) mmh I could hang that on my wall. :)

Also, thanks for your excitement about the paint! I've never felt especially adept at creating with my hands, but somehow this painting/collage thing gets me all excited. Like I can't wait for the next time I get to pick up a brush.
Hopefully I'll drum up some courage & post a photo of something soon...

But seriously. I can't get over how beautiful this page is!!! :)
