Last week I was lucky enough to have 7 days in wonderful Melbourne catching up with my daughter.Melbourne has a fantastic cafe / food culture. Every place you go to is busy and the competition is fierce, so the coffee and food is always innovative, edgy and excellent quality. My morning ritual would be to go to the Hot Poppy Cafe for a freshly made juice; I pretty much always had the #6.
Then I would walk down the road to this old warehouse, Auction Rooms for my coffee. Beautiful coffee that they roast on site.
For more info and some great photos of the Melbourne cafe scene go visit What Katie Ate here. Thanks for joining me today and hop on over to Kimmies blog to catch up with the other girls having tea.
Oh Gayle, I can almost smell the coffee roasting and taste that luscious coffee. Sounds like it was a great trip and a wonderful experience food and drink wise, as well as great companionship. It's good to see you back. Happy Tea Tuesday.ReplyDelete

You do have a way with photos and words and thank you so much for taking us along...I feel the next best thing to taking a trip myself is getting to enjoy it through a friend's eyes!
Melbourne seems quite a brilliant place to be!
Happy August days to you
p.s. all of the juice blends sound tantalizing and that coffee...ummmm!!!

oh I do love Melbourne! we went to Ned Kelly's museum there years ago, it was so spooky. It's such a great place. I love your shots, looks like you had a great time.ReplyDelete
Just found you by way of the Color Room. Love your layouts, you do beautiful work! My son moved to Melbourne three years ago and we had the chance to visit him two years ago. The food is incredible there and we were surprised to find out they are so serious about their coffee! I will have to tell my son to check out What Katie Ate. That Beet root juice looks delicious!ReplyDelete
