What Are You Feeling....Mixed Media Place Challenge

This months "emotional" challenge at Mixed Media Place is "Sadness". A difficult emotion to express and perhaps one we like to keep private. For some people, expressing emotions like sadness or anger through a creative outlet is very therapeutic. Art, dance and music have been the platform for the most amazing creative works expressing sadness and of course every other emotion as well.
I have chosen the easier path and have gone with a light hearted approach. I found this quote "Depresso" on Pinterest and created a mixed media journal page.

Started with a piece of patterned paper, Domestic Goddess "Kitchen Wallpaper" added some paper strips and tape, gessoed over it all, used the Sunrise Sunset stencil with some mist, stamped with a Finnabair Clear Stamp Doily and embossed it with black.

I played with some more stamping and added pattern and texture with another stencil and texture paste and high lighted this with colour using beautiful Silks Acrylic glaze. I know I always say "beautiful" Silks Acrylic Glaze, but these are amazing. If you love to add colour to your pages and haven't tried these yet I can promise you that you won't be disappointed....the colour is deep, vibrant and rich and it applies so smoothly, they are one of my favourite mediums to use.

I do love my coffee, and yes, I'm sorry when my cup is empty but I know this hardly rates on the "sadness" scale.

Thank you for visiting today. Have a great week and if any sadness exists in your life, may it only be in the confines of your creativity.
